Good news to all Paper applicants.

You can now check application status online directly at the CIC website :)

Hi guys,

Normally if they request for medicals, how long does the process take after that? And how long does it take for the hospitals to submit the result in Bangalore?

Thanks for your help..

Hospitals submit their results in a week or so. And cic can take upto 2-4 weeks to process the same.

Hi Navprateek,

After the hospital submit the result is there any chance that CIC processing could take longer than 2-4 weeks?

You can always call the hospital and enquire whether your medicals have been submitted to CIC or not. They actually take up to 7 days to submit the medicals.

After the hospital submit the result, CIC takes another one week to one month to get it updated in your application.

In very rare circumstances (If either hospital or CIC make a delay due to some unavoidable circumstances or error) it will take longer. Don't worry it won't happen often.

The processing time on the CIC site is calculated from the day of application. It includes time taken to update medical results.

I hope this clarify your query.

Yes you can do medical after submitting online application without request.

I would suggest you to wait until medical request and submit it.

Thanks. I wish you the same.

You applied as spouse of worker?

Just sharing my timeline.
Me and my common law partner applied for an extension of our workpermit.
Well, he was on a closed work permit and I applied for his BOWP and mine for extension of SOWP.
Applied online on March 11, 2016. Inland Applicant.
Everyday since we submitted it, I always check our my cic account.
And today, April 19, 2016, when I check my cic, it shows updated and when I open it, it shows application closed. Final decision: Approved. But it doesnt show yet on my messages, like it did with my previous applications. So, i really hope it is indeed closed and approved. We will just be waiting for the confirmation mail then.

Hi everyone, I am in process to apply my wife's OWP. Can anyone tell that if PCC (police clearance) is required for work permit? If yes, then I think upfront PCC will be more beneficial.

Waiting for kind replies asap.

Thanks and all the best to who are qaiting for their SOWP. :)

Congrats sw8Tjana.

ajsingh, you should attach PCC with your work permit application. CIC does not ask specifically for PCC for SOWP, but if you see for all other temporary resident visa's which are for 6 month or longer, they do require PCC. When I applied for my spouse Open work permit, I did attach this certificate.
