Hello,

My brother received a mail from CIC, stating that the decision has been made and he has to submit the passport. I was wondering what does that mean and how long it will take to get the passport back.

A request to submit a passport typically means the application is approved.

Passport processing can take a few days or several weeks.

He had submitted the passport on Friday and received a confirmation today stating that his envelope has been dispatched visa courier partner.

If the confirmation provided any courier tracking IDs, then he can use that.
If not, then you'll have to check the general delivery times for the courier, from the point of origin to destination.

At this point, it's no longer in the visa office or VFS's hands.
