Some final questions about the application

Hey,

I'm just about finished my application package. I just had some last questions I'm hoping someone can help me with.

Some questions about "Additional Family Information" IMM 5406E

1. It says Complete ALL names in English and in your native language.
The person filling this out (my wife.) speaks english and her native tongue. Do I have to absolutely fill it out in both languages? She's an American Citizen.

2. In Section A where it says "Spouse or common-law partner"
Does this still apply to me as I'm the one sponsoring her? I don't see why she would have to put me.

Misc questions.

1. Can I just contact the call centre and ask questions about the application form? Or is this a no no? (1-888-242‑2100)

2. How long are processing times nowadays? Is it still around 1 year to get a PR? (American -> To Canada)

3. Should I be sending the medical check + FBI check in the initial package or should I be sending it all at once?

4. Is a medical check cheaper in Canada or US? Does anyone have a ball park figure on how much it costs?

Misc answers.

1. Yes - you can call. Sometimes they provide wrong answers so be forewarned.

2. I'm assuming you're applying outland. If so, processing times are individual. Some wait a year or more. Others less than six months. Many seem to be getting through right now at the six to eight month mark.

3. You must send the medical with the original application. It's preferable to include all police certificates with the original application package as well.

4. Typically cheaper in Canada. Prices vary across the country (seem to be cheaper in larger cities). Can be anywhere from $160 to $500. Where are you located?

As your wife is from USA whose native language is English and therefore no need to write again.

2. In Section A where it says "Spouse or common-law partner"
Does this still apply to me as I'm the one sponsoring her? I don't see why she would have to put me.

Write your name there because you are spouse and your details in the respective columns

You should refer the guide and checklist for completing the form.
I don;t know how call centre will respond to this. Try Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, except for statutory holidays.

I don't know exactly about US. During my trip to NC last year I forgot my prescription in Canada and went to a doctor, paid $ 120-00 doctor's fee to buy $ 4-00 medicine from Walmart pharmacy. In Canada for a person without health card can get a prescription with CAD 30 to 50 doctor's fee.

Vancouver or Seattle are my options.

Also, in regards to IMM0008ENU for the principal applicant. Question #3 is "How many family members, including you, are in this application?" Am I suppose to add myself as well? Or just the applicant.

Total members including You. It is already said in the form.

Since your wife's native language is not English, she should fill out her name in her native language as well. There is no harm in doing so, in any case.
