Please somebody give me some advice. My husbands Turkish friend Ali,married to a First Nations woman,Jo was deported back to Turkey because they did not believe they had a legitimate marriage. Now the 2 of them are living in Rize, Turkey and she wants to sponsor him. Can she do it from there? They have been there over a month now.

I just talked to them on the phone and let them know that she will probably have to move back to Canada. I seem
to remember that we needed an address where we would be living, in order to sponsor. Of course when i originally
sponsored my husband i lived in Canada, though I did eventally live there for almost 7 months. They are pretty frantic,
he speaks english, but she doesn't speak turkish and is now totally immersed in the culture. I think it looks pretty good
for them. Maybe they just need to do an appeal, and not a sponsorship?

Depends how they applied. If they applied inland - an appeal is not possible. If they applied outland - they can consider an appeal.

Assuming the wife is Canadian, she can sponsor her husband while living outside of Canada and does not need a Canadian address. However she will have to provide proof that she plans to return to Canada once the application has been approved.

If they apply again, they should make sure they can overcome the reasons why they were refused the first time.

They are just now applying outland. They had been living in Canada together for a few years, until he was sent back to Turkey. Yes the wife is Canadian she is a First Nation from British Columbia. If thats true that she doesnt need an address that is great news! She really doesnt want to live apart from her husband, and she really doesnt have any family in Canada. But not speaking turkish is something that will make life hard for her there. Thank you so much for your answer. I willmlook more into it, too.
