Congrats Micheala on your PER, quick processing on the rest of your application.

I've gotta share with my other social workers that I had a dream last night that we were all getting our MR on this thread. I remember in the dream that I was specifically congratulating Mandie on the thread :) I know its a dream, but a good omen nonetheless, so I pray that the dream becomes reality soon.

I do have a question for all, do you plan on working as a social worker once you get to Canada? If so, which field do you think you'd like to specialize in?

Hi everybody,

I hope somebody can help me with this question. In the email, where I received my PER, it stated that I have to tell them any change of employment (among other things, i.e. address, etc.). Is this relevant for me as well, as I am in FSW1 category. Since applying for the visa, I have changed my job and am working in a different company. My previous employment lasted over 3 1/2 years and this is were I got my work experience for my application. Is it necessary for me to let LVO know that I have now a different employer and am working in a different position? In my opinion this is not relevant for my application.

I would appreciate any feedback. :)

I would definately inform them of the job change after you submitted your application. If they contact your previous employer during the background check than the visa office would already be informed of you job change, so there would be no surprises. I don't think it would be an issue about your job change, but I personally would inform them.

Thank you for this advice. I have to wait until the visa office receives my application though and then I will write them a letter to inform them of my new employment.

Dear seniors in the forum,

Greetings. Its really nice to go through the different posts in the blog and see relevant answer to each query, I Applied ending November , 2011 for FSW1 NOC 4152 (social workers) category. I filed my application myself by taking help from your expert advice. But unfortunately my application was sent back by CIO as it was found incomplete by them. Only reason of rejection was that I havn't entered visa office correctly (I wrote India, instead of New Delhi, India in column 4 of generic application form). By the time i got reply from them the application for this year was already filled.
Now before waiting for next year I need get reply for following querry. Pls go through it and tell me shd i prepare my application for next time or............................
I applied in NOC 4152 since I am working as a grade II Social Welfare officer in Govt Social Welfare department in india, since July, 2003 in full time permanent capacity with total experience of around nine years. All my present job responsibilities match to that of NOC 4152 but main problem is that I got job in govt department after finishing my studies i.e., MSc,. Botany with continuous 17 years regular full time studies. I joined my job immediately. I have got all the trainings and refresher courses that were required for my job in social welfare department.
Since I applied under NOC 4152, but i have a doubt regarding my qualifications as it didn’t match as required for social workers category i.e., Masters in social sciences or diplomas in social work or child welfare. I got all my letters from my adminstrative department.
Are their the chances that CIO may give NER for my application on this ground. E
Another thing is that I Also joined University to pursue Ph.D. in botany as a part-time candidate and likely to get my phd degree by ending march 2012. My specializations in research is also there in NOC list of 29 occupations i.e. Biologists as I have worked for my phd in Algalogy and Ecology. During this I was fortunate enough to present my work at various international Symposiums/conferences in Ireland, Scotland and London. during research period.
Please advice my likely chances of my application for PR to canada.
With Regards,
Poonam Sharma
