So Confused - Please Help

Hi All,

I'm eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship. I've partially filled my application form as well.

However, I have following doubt that i need clarification on -

2. From Application for Canadian Citizenship form CIT0002 -
Question 9(C) on the form -
During the eligibility period did you live outside of Canada? Yes or No

My Eligibility period is 2013-01-30 to 2018-01-30. I became PR on 02 October 2014.

My Question -
I have lived in Canada since becoming PR in Oct 2014. However before that I was living in India.
Considering my eligibility period (2013-01-30 to 2018-01-30), what should be my answer?
The additional form CIT0177 talks about Crown servant or family member. This surely doesn't apply to me however, I called CIC customer care & they said I have to fill this form.
I am so confused right now! Please help!

They want to know what falls within your eligibility period as a whole, not your permanent residency, so you would have to tick 'yes'. Did you do the calculator to ensure you met the requirements first? You cannot count time outside of Canada in your calculator unless you or your partner were employed in the CAF, crown etc so unfortunately, you may not meet requirements to apply just yet. When you do the calculator it tells you the date that you will be eligible to apply.
