So apparently my application is in the 'screening' stage? (2 cents, anyone?)

So I emailed CHC last friday regarding my application. I asked them what stage it was in, and that I only had 5 weeks to program start yet no news had been recieved. They send me back a medical request immediately.

I happily finished up with my medicals, but got an email from them telling me the 'upfront' medicals had been sent to me since my program was only 5 weeks away and they should be taken at my own risk.

I emailed them back, and asked my initial question i.e. what stage of the process was my application in.

The replied back and said it was in the 'screening' stage.

Is this the very first stage or what? Does this mean I'm still in square one?

Screening is mainly verification and criminal checks. How long it takes depends on several factors like your nationality.

But is this the initial stage, or does this mean the application has passed through the initial review?
