What a shock as I heard that saskatchewan government have changed the requirements for international students who have graduated from outside saskatchewan..now instead of working for only 6 months, international graduates would have to work for 12 months to get a nomination from the province..This increases the risk of PGWP expiration if your PR takes a long time..

Does anybody know how many years the old rules lasted in Saskatchewan, this will give us a clear idea on how long the current rules will last before SNIP makes it even more tough for international students..

They were ought to change it looking at the ongoing trend, where students from other provinces move to Saskatchewan for PR

This rule apply on those who enter Saskatchewan after 1 May.
I am here from last 3 months so i have to work 6 months for SINP.
I think this rule will last for long time because now nobody will go Saskatchewan.

Anyway, because on one year course we will get one year work permit so we cannot apply for SINP.

Once you get Provincial letter than you will get work permit as you apply for pr to the federal so there is no risk of PGWP if you apply for pr.

no.
Cic will issue work permit because of your employer so you have to work there until you get your pr.
You cannot change job and you cannot do any part time job.
It will take 1 year after nomination so i think once you get nomination you dont have to worry.

But still SINP is not so hard even they changed rules.
For example, if a student has 1 year study permit. He graduated from 8 months course. He still has 4 months and he has to apply for work permit before 90 days of his graduation.
he will get 1 year work permit so altogether he has more than 14 months to apply for SINP.
So before applying for work permit if he comes to Saskatchewan, find any job in a month and than after 2 weeks of job, apply for work permit than he has 1 year to go.
So even they changed the rules but still we have hopes in a corner and it depends on you how you mange.

Best of luck for everyone.

I would get a 3 years of work permit cuz I studied for 2 years, can you tell me how long does it take to get the PR after the nomination.

One more thing, I lived in the UK for one year on a student visa and graduated will that be any problem? Will my file go through extensive background checks because I lived in UK?

Minimum of 1 year.
Same as you file from Toronto.
Because application goes to the federal.

But I guess its not an issue because I can always renew my work permit if I am nominated...Tell me one thing though, can I apply to renew the work permit myself if I am nominated or my employer would have to do it...

Yes I hope these regulations will last long..
