Small courses with work permit

Does anybody knows if it's possible to make small courses with work permit ?

My wife is going to study in Canada a two years college, and during this time I'll have an open work permit. So, I'd like to know if it's possible to make a commercial pilot course at this time (commercial pilot course would require me no more than 6 months, since I'm commercial pilot in my country yet).

Would depend on the course. Would you be receiving credits towards the general program because you've already completed the course abroad? If so the program would technically be longer than 6 months. Is it a full-time course? How long is it exactly including any practical training hours required?
