Dear all, I hope you’re doing well. I just finished my 4th/last sem of my 2-year diploma program. However, during my second and last semester, I unfortunately failed one mandatory course and two gened courses.

Due to this, I will need to extend my studies and complete additional semesters in:

Summer 2025 – I plan to retake one failed courses (to maintain part-time).

Fall 2025 – I will retake the mandatory course (only offered in Fall) along with adding additional courses to ensure I am enrolled full-time in my final semester.

I’ve been advised that having more than one part-time semester could affect my eligibility for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Given that:

I was full-time in all required semesters of my program so far. But i plan to be part-time in Summer 2025, and
I will be full-time in Fall 2025 to complete the program,
I would like to ask:

Will this plan affect my eligibility for the PGWP?
If this Summer 2025 if i could take a academic break then will it be a problem? If break is not possible then i would be adding two additional sem i which this summer to become part time semester and the fall as a full time. Now will i still be eligible for PGWP?

I want to make sure I’m following the correct steps to remain eligible for the PGWP. Thank you very much for your time and guidance
