Hello there! I got a question... I just finished my probation as a food service supervisor and my employer is going to apply my new work permit as a supervisor unfortunately CIC/CEC will no longer accept applicants in this category NOC 6311 , but as few said we were NOC 6212 that other said its the same. So even I work as a supervisor I'm not able to have a work permit that specify my job description. Is it against the law that I work as a supervisor but I'm not able to have the said permit?
Thanks

I think you're asking two questions. Whether you can get a work permit, and what are your prospects for CEC.

For the work permit - as always, yes, provided you obtain a positive LMO. I'm not sure that the recent 'improvements' to CEC necessarily mean that HRSDC is less likely to give out positive LMOs for your occupation, though others may want to chime in on this.

As for permanent residence through CEC - this will be more difficult for you. To explain the NOC situation - NOC 6212 (2006) is equal to NOC 6311 (2011). The current CEC rules define which categories of occupation are eligible, and which occupations are specifically excluded, using the 2011 NOC. Food service supervisor, NOC 6311 (2011), is among the six occupations that were excluded.

noc 6212 and 6311 reflect the same job title(food service supervisor)unfortunately not eligible for CEC since november 9th.
