Hi Everyone
I am new to this forum so I thought it would be good to write a note here as I am kind of confused how to get the information from your posts.
I moved to Canada with my son and applied for spouse sponsorship for my husband who lives in Malaysia. I submitted the application in April to CPC-M and in June we received a letter that I met the eligibility and his file has been forwarded to Singapore office for further processing :). Since this is Singapore Timeline, I would like to know based on your experiences, how long it takes to process his application?
Thanks a lot for sharing your story with me.

Welcome Fatimabod!!!

You can check the processing times by country on CIC's website. Malaysia = 17 months. This means that 80% of the applications from Malaysia are processed within 17 months. Actual process times can be be quicker or slower depending on the specifics of each application.

Vietnam is 23 months. However, there are people like phamhainguyen68 who has been processed in ~ 9 months. Lucky dog!!!

Hope this helps.

Welcome on board Fatimabod, try not to worry to much about processing time, if you have a straight forward case(no red flag) and no interview it will be under a year. And dont bother to look the processing time on cic website, there are not reliable at all. Like htquach said got visa from vietnam in 9 months and cic website=23months. Me I got it in 8 months and processing time for Thailand is 29 months on cic website.

fatimabod - Given the current posts, It looks like Singapore VO takes about 6-8 months for an approval. Having said this, there are people on here who have been waiting years for an approval, some within a year. My husband(in malaysia) just got an interview request 6 months after submission. There's no definite processing time but I'm sure other members of this forum can help you a little more than i can:)

Thanks ames219. May I know when you applied to CPC-M and how long after your file has been transferred to SVO? Also do you live in Canada? Which city?

Thanks htquach. I hope it does not take that long. I know it is stated 17 months but I want to know if there is anyone here submitted to Singapore office and how long it takes for them practically?

A straightforward case with sufficient evident in the application will help shorten the time a lot. I.e. Our case is 9 months, Mikeymike is only 6 months only!!

It should take between 5-8 months if have a straight forward application.

My wife's application was done in 6 months, and this was with the conservatives.

Congrats tuoicao!

Like you, I would expect good news for me and others.

Thank you I hope everyone will process fast. The feeling of being away from your spouse is hard. I'm wishing everyone the best!

Just submitted a case specific enquiry to add statutory declarations from wife's parents, my brother and my best friend re: genuineness of our relationship.

This is my third addition of information to our application. Wonder if these case officers get upset with repeated submissions? This will be the last unless I change addy, jobs, etc.

:( i didnt giv any additional docs , i hope im gonna ask of a GCMS note end of this month, when my husband ll b back from a trip. i donno whats happening with SVO!! no news for others for us . really passing a frustrating time. :'(
