Can anyone tell me what is the procedures of getting a police certificate in Dhaka?

Hi Goodman36

Write an application to Commissioner of Police explayning why you need that PC and deposit 500 Taka to Sonali Bank, Motijheel Br. bring two copies of Pmt Voucher and attach with one with application and submit it to Ramna Thana, think it's in the Eskaton along with two PP Photo. if you call DMP phone and they will tell you exactly what you need. I did for my mother last year and I kinda forgot the detail, hope it helps. Thanks

Thanks Toronto30

I heard that the procedure has recently been changed. Now everyone has to go to DPMP on Mintu Road. But I am not sure if this is true or not.

What if someone lives in Dhanmondi, does she still goes to Ramna Thana?

(Last year one of my wife's relative helped her get the certificate, but he is not there now, so I am inquiring all these)

Hello GoodMan
I have called one of the number for DMP listed on the any phone book, and asked the procedure, they will tell you exactly. I am not sure if the procedure has changed or not but my mom's one was done last year December.

New employees that CIC sent instead of professional officers...... what a mess....
if you have to show the passport for police certificate then ask them to return it
Send an email to SVO and tell them we need passport for police certificate 'write urgent' on subject of the email..... :(

Hi Goodman,

You might be able to get the police certificate just with the National ID card (without the passport) - just thought I should let you know before you request the passport back from SVO.

Thanks.

It seems one needs to provide only certified copies of Passport (which we have). The new Passport does not have address information in them, so a copy of National ID is required.

I am trying to verify that now for Police Certificate in Bangladesh there is a one stop service in Ramna (DMP Head Quarter). So, now no one has to go to their police precinct (local police thana). Is this true?

Two Investigator(Police) will come to varify the person's identity from Local Thana, and after 4/5 business days you will have it by mail.

I don't know what the hell are they doing in SVO

Hi all,

I was trying to post a news link about the strike, but was not allowed to post links.
Any idea why?

Anyways, reading the news, it is saying that they are going to the labour board to come to a decision soon, hopefully in a few days...

Although I can't find anything about the strike in Singapore particularly but as I read here, things are just going slow... :(
