Now that we got confirmation that the Application package is in Singapore Visa Office (we got a doc request a few days ago from SVO), we have my spouse's UCI # and File # for the Application.

If we wanted to change the e-mail address that SVO has on file, is it possible to change the current e-mail address by sending the visa office an e-mail?
Yes, because if you put a email address on your application they will contact you by the email address you provided, so if you change you must let them know unless you will be checking the id you provided with the app.

When my husband & I made an enquiry and provided his email address thats what was quoted on the bottom of the email( we didnt put an email id with the application tough):Disclaimer: By supplying your email address, you are initiating an email
communication with CIC and thereby authorizing CIC to use your email
address for communication with you including the transmission of personal
information on your file/case.

Shiny, so, if we want to change the e-mail address that we originally put on forms when we send the application, we can just send an e-mail now to SVO requesting the change? Do we need mail anything or the e-mail to change e-mail address should be enough?

you dont need to mail anything, email to case specific enquiry and let them know your old email ID(write it doown) and say that you will be no longer using that one and your new email id is (write it dwn). that is it ;-)

I have a question. i want to sponsor my husband who currently lives in Malaysia. it will be two years of him residing there in April 2013. He is currently on a student visa. so my question is, is he eligible to apply from Malaysia on a student visa? or will that be a problem for him?

If you are sponsoring him (you must be a Canadian citizen or PR to sponsor him), then it does not matter what your husband is doing. He is the Applicant for Permanent Residence in Canada but you are the sponsor. The full application package has to be mailed in Canada (to the processing centre near you), then the application is forwarded to the Visa Office that you put on the Form (usually the country that you husband lives or is from).

If he applies for student visa now, then most likely it may be refused because he has to disclose his relationship with you.

For details, please check the Citizenship & Canada website when you can read the eligibility (see the following link). Of course, you can get many helpful information here if you read long enough.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index-can.asp

If you meant to ask, since your husband is on a student visa in Malaysia, is it ok to show his current residence in Malaysia, then the answer is yes. Student visa means he is living in Malaysia legally. If his address changes after the application is sent, then you have to update his addresses.

Good Luck.

yes, i am a Canadian citizen and what i was trying to ask was if my husband is eligible to show his current residence in Malaysia even though if it's just a student visa he is living on. Thank you for answering :)

I already answered you. He can show residence in Malaysia since he is a student (which means he resides there legally). :)

I also said, to note that if he moves in the future, you will need to provide address changes and depending on the time he moves to a new address and the country he moves to, he most likely have to provide further information from that country (most cases police report).

You are sponsoring him, so it is your employment and financial situation that is important (even though there is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse.....). As the sponsored person (the applicant), his income or current employment or student status is not relevant.

well do i still need to gather proofs? They called my wife for interview. And we have lots of photos of the last time I visited. Does she need to take evidence when she is going for the interview?
