Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered but i couldn't find anything while searching

On the list of SIN requirements I have a couple questions -

"Visitor record issued by IRCC, indicating you are authorized to work in Canada." I assume this issued by immigration on entry?

"Diplomatic identity card and a note of permission of employment issued by Global Affairs Canada." I've no idea what this is, and the GAC website mentions nothing of this - can anyone shed any light on what this is and how I get it?

Thanks,
James.

Yes - a visitor record is issued at the border on entry.

A diplomatic identity card is something you have if you are in Canada as a foreign diplomat. Are you a foreign diplomat on assignment in Canada?

Hey thanks for the quick response, the part I'm having trouble with is "note of permission of employment issued by Global Affairs Canada" or does that only apply if enter Canada as a foreign diplomat?
