sin and health card

hi,

i will migrate to Edmonton in June. i know it will take approx 3-4 weeks to obtain the PR card.
do I have to wait for PR CARD to apply for SIN and Health card.?

2. No, you don't have to wait for PR card. COPR should be suffice.

We did our SIN in Edmonton today, it only took about 10 minutes. We have completed our Alberta Health form, but we don't have proof of our address because we are staying with my sister at the moment so we can't do it until we find somewhere to rent.
It has all been really easy so far!!!

I knew a woman who moved to AB who opened a bank account and asked them right away to send her a statement to the temporary address where she was staying. She then used the statement from the bank mailed to an AB address as her proof.

As long as they aren't asking for a lease now, this might work for you too.

Actually, when I opened a bank account, the bank gave me a document with all my account details (and my address) on the spot... this is pretty standard. I then drove down the road and used this document as proof of address to get a drivers license.
