Hi all, sincere thanks I’m advance for the help - just to confirm if a status was extended and is listed as July 22nd 2021 & an extension request is submitted on the morning of July 22nd, is this still okay? Is 23rd when this would be expired or would the application need to be submitted BEFORE the 22nd?

IRCC uses a slightly different time zone to track deadlines - I think they use UTC. Depending on the timestamp of your application, it may be too late.
Submitting the extension on the expiry date is not the world's best idea but provided that IRCC's acknowledgement does not indicate that the extension request was submitted after the status expired then it may be okay.
If you can submit it before tomorrow this is your best idea.

Let's say today is 22nd July. Your status expired on 22nd, which means you are supposed to leave the country by 22nd July. Which means if you submit on 22nd you need to submit restoration application which is different than the normal application. From CIC website "
- If an application for an extension is received after the temporary resident status is lost, the case processing centre should refuse the application and respond with a warning notice to the applicant that they are eligible to apply for restoration.
