As the title suggests, its another stupid question from me, already here:

My spousal PR package is going to include:

1: Sponsor+ PR App
2: Rehab app, (in case CIC call centre are wrong (again)
3: Medical report??
4: Open Work Permit.

My questions are:
1: If i include the medical report, how long before it becomes too old and i will need another? (at my expense i presume)
2: As i live in Kitchener, there is a CIC office 10 minute drive from me, will everything, once my wife has been approved to sponsor, be dealt with in Kitchener?, if so, 2nd med report could be dropped in direct, addressed to the agent working on my file?
3: Will the OWP be issued next, or will i have to wait for the rehabilitation stage to be completed too?
Not bothered at all how long it would take if the work permit was issued!
thanks for any answers....

1: The medical report is valid for one year. You must submit it with your application. If it expires, a new one will be requested when your application process is concluding.
2: The application is submitted to mississauga then forwarded to a local office (for inland application I assume). Each office has their own policies on how things can be submitted. When they have your file they will send instructions. Generally speaking though the medical documents are forwarded directly from the doctor's office to the regional medical centre where a report is written and then they forward it to the approporaite visa office. So no, you will not be able to take it to the office yourself because they do not assess them there.
3: I believe OWP is not issued until after first stage approval (around 9 months)

Inland applications go to Vegreville.

right... thanks for the correction. all the packing has melted my brain :)

Haha, that would definitely do it :).

ok thanks folks.

As i said, not too bothered how long it would take, if i had the OWP, as time would fly by. I was just wondering if OWP would be delayed until after the possible rehab.
The local office apparently is reasonably quiet
Incidently, do I pay for the PR+spons+OWP+rehab onto the same receipt, or seperatly with a describion stapled onto each?

Your file will be transferred to your local office only if the Imm. officer working on your file is not satisfied that your relationship is a genuine one(it was entered to acquire PR status) or if there's some inadmissibility involved(i.e. criminal records) and it needs further assessment.

If the immigration officer doesn't have any concern about your file, then it will be all processed in Vegreville and then sent to your local office for finalization, i.e. landing interview, and for others minor checks.

Also, for INLAND applications the medical may be extended for 1 more year, making it valid for two years. Be careful because there're a couple of things that are different from OUTLAND processing.

Your OWP will only be issued once you have reached and have been approved first stage of approval, which is taking 9-10 months lately.

I don't know regarding the payment for rehab, but all payments for Sponsorship + open work permit can be done all through CIC website and if you do all the payments together they will be printed on the same receipt.

:)

ok thanks.

Probably long wait so, till i am deemed rehab'd, and more importantly, OWP

thanks
