Hello everyone,
Am from India and I have generic query. Request whomsoever can offer me guidance/opinion/advise pls.
My background - I have done my UG & PG ( MBA in Finance ) from India and been working in India in the Banking sector for 10 years.
I will briefly explain to you my current situation - I was evaluating to apply for a Canadian PR , but my CRS points are quite low ( 425 due to my age, can be increased max to 437 with better IELTS) and my NOC code would be 0122. I am not very sure if the cutoffs will ever drop to these levels in the near future and in interest of time, I was simultaneously assessing to join a full time MBA course either in USA or Canada.
Now,i have received admission in a Tier 2 university in USA for a full time course ( accredited AACSB). Am a bit confused on the following points:
- if I join the US university, am not sure about the ongoing H1B visas issues. What happens if I cannot find a company to sponsor me for H1B after my MBA course?
- or join a Canadian university for a MBA, this will ensure I get my PR in couple of years( I can even try an accelerated MBA for 12 months),but am not very sure of the job opportunities in the Financial sector in Canada 2 years down the line. I feel I may end up having a PR but not a great/ high paying job. Canada has already taken many people under the express entry scheme in the last 2-4 years and will continue to take more people under the PR route in the next 2/3 years. Am not sure if there are enough opportunities for more people or students graduating from the Canadian B schools in the next 2 years. The job opportunities are definitely more in USA than Canada ( in the overall sense),but am caught in this dilemma.
Am sure there must have been many others who would have been in a similar situation and I request some insights from those people and also from others who are already in Canada( can provide me some inputs on the job prospects in the financial sector).
What do you think I should do? Which route is a safer bet for me?
Should I join the US school and after graduation, try for a job in Canada ( am sure US institutes are recognized in Canada, but not vice versa) or I shouldn't take that risk and instead straight away join a Canadian college and work towards by PR as my points will continue to go down with my age.
Seeking inputs.
Regards
