Hi everyone,

I was approved for sponsoring my wife on 23 January, and I received an email with a PDF to this effect, which is great. However, it sounded like I should receive a paper letter in the mail as well, but none has come. Should I be concerned that there is a problem with my physical address they have on file, or is it normal to not receive a physical letter for parts of the process if I submit an email address? I am concerned that for certain parts they may rely on physical mail for something...

If you applied through inland, almost every correspondence are given via emails. The only time they give out paper letter is the landing letter for appointment time for landing. This is inland sponsorship. Can't say much for outland sponsorship.

For outland applications I suspect that it is one or the other. Though they have my email address and have subsequently corresponded by email, my recollection is that the approval of sponsorship in my case came by snail mail.

I am an outland sponsor and I received my SA on January 15th. I received it via email and have not been mailed a physical copy of the letter. The address they have on ECAS is right, so I'm assuming if I got it through email, then they're not going to send me a hard copy. I haven't heard of anyone getting both.

If you received an email with the SA on PDF form, you will not be mailed another copy. If you read the PDF carefully (right before the reminder of the undertaking agreement), there is one line that says: "If you received this communication via email, please note that another copy will not be mailed to you."

I guess I didn't read the PDF carefully enough. Thanks everybody!!
