Our context: After receiving our Canadian Visa on our passport & Confirmation of Permanent Residence letter, we are going to enter Edmonton, Canada for the FIRST time.

Q1. Should we apply for PR Card or is it AUTOMATICALLY processed for us when we enter Canada? All we need to do is to give a local address. And we plan to give one of our family friend's Edmonton address.

Q2. We are only planning to stay for 31 days (13th July to August 13th 2013) will we get the PR Card during this period ?

Q3. Are there any URGENT request form to process the PR Card ?

Q4. Can we request CIC to send our PR Card to our family friend and then request our family friend to send to the country that we are currently living (UAE) ?

Please advise.

Regards
Isaac

A1. It's automatic, as long as you are able to provide a Canadian address for it to be sent to.

A2. No. The processing time is something like 66 days at the moment I think, plus mail delivery time.

A3. Not for your first card.

A4. Yes, you can.
