Hi all , me and my husband plan to apply for Canadian PR Via Express entry . I hold specialist degree in Tourism and my husband is a Dentist .My husband is very busy with his own career at the moment and doesnt have time neither to prepare for IELTS test ,nor to get his credentials assessed . Therefore, we decided that the main applicant should be me . So I obtained level 9 in language proficiency (Speaking 7 ,Reading,7.5 ,writing 7.5 ,listening 8 ) and soon I will receive Educational Credential Assessment . I have a couple of questions :

1) Should my husband still have to submit his diploma in dentistry for ECA if I am main applicant?
2) Should he take IELTS test ?
3)Lets say I want to apply for visa alone with a condition that my husband will not accompany me (he will apply later ). Will it affect my score ? and which option is preferable ?

Thank you in advance and waiting your advice :)

You have 3 options;

Option 1: If your husband does not accompany you only enter your details in the EE profile

Option 2: If he does accompany you and you file a joint application then he needs to complete language test and get his ECA for his qualification

Option 3: You and he file separate applications. In this case he still needs language test and ECA

Let me know if you need more assistance.

1. Not required
2. Not required
3. If you are married you will have to include him in application even if he is accompanying you or not. Yes your score will drop.

Thank you for your response . So you mean that submitting my spouse's ielts result and eca report will dramatically increase my score? I just noticed that according to ranking system i receive higher score applying without a spouse. Thats why i feel a bit confused.
If my husband will not accompany me , will my application will be considered as a single or as an applicant with spouse?

If you are married, you loose points on the application, and the only way to make it back (or part of it at least) is if you include your spouses' info: which includes
IELTS
Education Assessment
Canadian Work experience.
This is very necessary for you to have the highest possible score even if they will not go to Canada with you.

Only submit your husbands details (if he is accompanying you). If you don't and your application is processed as a Joint Application and you are successful, they may revoke the PR status in the event that you and your husband do not show up for the completion of the 'Landing' process.

To the best of my Knowledge, PA can land alone without accompanying family members

The border guard may still become suspicious because the CRS points that were used to receive the ITA was based in part on the Spouse being included in the application because both Spouses were applying to migrate to Canada. Even if one spouse arrives by themselves, the other may face a strict line of questioning as to whereabouts and the current intentions of the spouse (not present during the landing process).

I would suggest to apply with your husband . Have his credentails accessed and take the test. Reason being if u come here alone be ready not to reunite with him for atleast 2 years. Because in 4 to 6 months u ll get yur pr and then u ll sponsor him will take another 15 to 20 months to process his application . My buddy wife took 29 months to cme to Canada on sponsorship .

I think the best thing to do is to apply with my husband ,and make assessment for his education .My husband has an old IELTS test about 3 years old can he use it to apply ?
Last question :) can I make landing once a year for one month and then go back to my home country until I get the Canadian citizenship ?
By the way , I studied in Canada for one semester and I had a work permit inside campus .Unfortunately,I didnt complete my study for some reasons so I had to go back home :(

IELTS validity is 2 years I believe, so he has to take it again.
One month in a year will not be enough to get you citizenship.

You need to be physically present in Canada for 2 years out of 5 years from the date your PR is issued in order to fulfil the requirement for PR extension or citizenship.
