Hi,

I am in process of completing forms for sponsoring my wife and 2 months old daughter. Shall I submit forms on my own or get service from a consultant.
Also, are medical and police reports required at the time of submitting appliation to the Mississauga office?
Any suggesstion will really help.

If yours is a straightforward case, you won't need an immigration consultant. But if there are problems with your application, or you feel overwhelmed with the paperwork, a consultant won't hurt. People usually find they can put together a good application with the help they get from this forum.
You are supposed to submit the medical and police reports with the applications to the Mississauga office (except for a a few countries, which will be mentioned in the 'Region Specific Guides'.)

For outland applications, medicals must be submitted with the application, police clearances can be submitted later (but note on your application that they have been applied for and are pending)

As for consultants - as the earlier poster said, straight forward applications you probably don't need one. Whether you get one or not is a personal choice depending on how comfortable you are doing these kinds of forms. My only suggestion is that if you do go with a consultant, remember that ultimately it is your future on the line so take the initiative to understand everything yourself and follow up. It'll help prevent you from becoming a victim of a bad consultant. It's amazing how often you hear stories of people who way after the usual timeline start asking questions only to discover that parts of their application disappeared or were never submitted and no follow up was done. You're the only one that stands to lose so do your homework.
