Is there anybody here who was able to speak to a cic agent recently. I have been trying to call since a week and would say they are experiencing high volume of calls to call again later .

My background check was completed on April 11 and still nothing.
I was. Make sure you put your UCI in and then select the Citizenship option.
If the call doesn't get through the first time keep trying at least 4 times in a row. Good luck.

Brother anything you got to know regarding the status update ??

Regards
I was able to speak to an agent, only because I opted for services in French. She was nice and told me my application is still in Sydney and she is unable to tell me the reason why is it sitting there and not been sent to a local processing office, which is the usual practice. She says it can take a few months before I hear anything now cause they will not be doing anything at this location unless they sent it to a different processing office.
Frustrated but nothing I can do. I wonder if writing to the Sydney office would make things move or a waste of time?!

Definitely not a fair system, at all!

Unfortunately not. My background check is still in process, and the agent said that the status is what's being displayed in the online system.
It depends on which agent you are talking to. Some are nice and will provide you with some extra information, but most of them will not, from my experience.

Will do. Should I just request for an update or why my file is still there after background check? Thanks
I don't think they will contact you. Tell them how unfair it is for your file to be sitting at CPC-Sydney while people who applied after you already completed citizenship tests, some even received oath invitations.

How did your test go and any preparation tips?
Practice tests on apnatoronto, richmon hill library, citizenship support, youtube (2022 - 414 questions and 574 questions) etc. READ THE BOOK atleast 3 times. I had 3 very tricky questions and the only reason I scored full marks was because I could apply some logic on those 3 twisted questions after reading the book. If you are on the Canadian Citizenship Test group on facebook, take advantage of Doris Crosby’s notes
