Hi everyone,

I applied for my citizenship today. I only sent a copy of my latest passport (biographical copy) which was valid for the last 3 years. I do not have my old passport. Do you think this will be a problem?

Did you provide them explanation regarding your old passport? If you did so, it will be OK but if you didn't explain the matter, it is possible they ask you for your old passport.

Thank you for your response. Will they ask me for the passport photo after AOR or will they return application because of that? I did not provide an explanation

Did you provide them explanation regarding your old passport? If you did so, it will be OK but if you didn't explain the matter, it is possible they ask you for your old passport.

Well i hope u get a kind officer and he ask for explanation by email. But to get more details

on form question 14 it says

Tell us if you have held passports or travel documents during your five (5) year eligibility period.

1. Check either yes or no.
   • If you check yes, complete the chart labeled Table A in question 14 by including:
     1. the document number
     2. the name of the country that issued the document (issuing authority)
     3. the place (city or town) the document was issued
     4. the date the document was issued
     5. the expiry date of the document
   • If you do not have a passport or travel document that was/is valid during your five (5) year eligibility period, tell us why in the box provided labeled Table B.
2. Check Yes to authorize the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to provide your history of travel to IRCC. By selecting Yes, you are also authorizing IRCC to collect the history of your travel from the CBSA and to use the information provided by the CBSA in order to determine your citizenship eligibility.
   • If you choose No, you may be asked to provide additional documents later in the process which will delay the processing of your application. Please do not contact the CBSA to request your history of travel.

Perfect. I did enter the information of the old copy as well as authorized IRCC to gather information. I just did not provide the copy itself. Thank you for your help!!
