Within the last hour, my background check went to In Progress! Holy hannah!

Finally my background check has started! How long did it take everyone else to get a DM after their background check?

Great news! Background to DM depends and is hard to answer. Some on here were over 4 weeks, some were quicker. Fingers crossed for you it doesn't take long!

Yup. Now the next phase of waiting begins.

I'll be curious to see how long mine takes. I've only lived at two addresses in the last 10 years, and one of those was the address I'd lived at since 1994. I've never been in any trouble with the law (not even traffic violations, since I don't drive), and aside from my trips to Canada to visit my husband since 2015, I've only been outside the country once. That was in 2003, when I went to the Netherlands for several weeks.

I was just saying to my husband that I wonder if they'll send back the photographs. Not a big deal if they don't, because we specifically had them printed to send with the application anyway. But they're the only thing in there that would have looked like "original" proof. For everything else (receipts, cards, proof of travel) we scanned them into the computer and arranged them in order chronologically. So luckily I don't have anything else to worry about in that regard.

I sent my original cards and plane tickets etc. It would be nice to get them back, but I doubt I could put in a request for that from CIC and it's not that big of a deal if I can't.

I was able to link and open our application on myCIC account until AOR2 last November 2, 2016 and it just now keeps saying "Application status is currently unavailable. Please try again later." There was no update since then. I wonder when the service will come back?

Hi danawhitaker. Yes, I am able to see and access ECAS. There was no updates as well since AOR2 last November 2. I have 4 lines on the Sponsor side. The PA side remains with 2 lines and no updates regarding the medical.

As previously mentioned, got 'decision made' on ECAS on Monday and last night (Thursday) I received my PPR.

those of us with DMs on ECAS from Ottawa are going batty with zero communication since then. we're not sure if we'll get an email or just COPR papers in the mail 1-2months later. it's weird how the waiting gets even worse when you're close

Yes, I do have 4 lines on the Sponsor side. It states as follows:

Sponsorship
1. We received your application to sponsor (Name of Principal Applicant) on September 22, 2016.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on October 20, 2016.
3. We started processing your application on October 19, 2016.
4. We sent you correspondence on October 28, 2016 about the decision on your application.

On the other hand,I only got 2 lines on the Principal Applicant side. It states as follows:

Permanent Residence
1. We received (Name of Principal Applicant's) application for permanent residence on September 22, 2016.
2. We started processing (Name of Principal Applicant's) application on November 2, 2016.

Just patiently waiting for new updates...
