Congratulations! Thanks for the update. Very happy for you guys. If you can keep us informed of how long it takes the COPR to arrive, that would be awesome too. :)
Thanks, it's a huge burden off my shoulders.
Hoping everyone else that is waiting for your email/letter it comes quick

And now
Dana it's your turn for DM! :)

Haha. Indeed!

It's so weird to be approaching the final stages of this process. I feel like I've been immersed in it for so long, between researching what we'd need to do after we decided we were getting married, then actually filling out the forms and doing all the stuff that needed to be done, and now waiting not-so-patiently since mailing it off. What will I do when I don't have to obsessively check MyCIC and ECAS all the time? ;)

Got the "Medical results have been received." point on ECAS.

Anyone know what's next? I have no access to MyCiC so I can't check that.

you would wait for background check listed on mycic to be in progress, that is the last step before decision on ECAS.

How come no link to mycic? representative?

Otherwise try the tricks on the september google doc under the tab on linking to mycic

Hello everyone!

My wife and I were lucky enough to receive word that her application was accepted on the 19th of January. Her passport has since been mailed in for processing.

I just had a question that has been nagging me for a while but there was no point in asking it till all was through; When arriving in a Canadian airport there are two lines that one would go through before exiting the building, The citizen side and the visitor side. My self being a citizen would go through that side but what about my wife? At this time she would have the CoPR and her stamped Passport.

I've also been reading about the things required for passing the border such as proof of how you will support your self for the first six months. Would this be negated by the fact that I was approved as a sponsor and in such case would the approval letter for that work as an answer for that?

These things just make me nervous for no reason.

Thanks for your support over these past couple months!

Yes representative. I wish I could get on MyCIC but ECAS is good enough.
So i'm hoping for a Decision Made soon enough if the Medical is received.
Thanks for your help.

Just wondering if I'm the only Ottawa Sept. applicant that hasn't had 'background check in process' yet?

I told myself I wouldn't worry until March, but it seems literally everyone else has had theirs either start or DM already.

your wife needs to go in the visitor line, as she is not a citizen, nor will she legally be a pr yet. The immigration officers will perform the landing procedure with her.

i'm assuming the information you are reading is general information for visitors, or those entering on other visas. spousal sponsorship landing is different and it is not required for her to show proof of funds. you as the sponsor will not be involved in the landing procedure (they will have you sit and wait while she signs the paperwork) and there is no reason for you to provide your sponsor approval letter.

all your wife needs to land is her passport and COPR. if she is declaring items at landing or later, then she will want to present her declaration forms at landing.

There are a few other Ottawa apps that are quiet on the google doc, but not sure if they're still active on here, might want to message them to ask...

Is your case straight forward? Is it an outland US app?
