So what should we do then ? wait for another email from CIC or pay the fees i am really confused......

Hello All, I received my rprf this morning as well! I am a September 23rd applicant. It was sent to my lawyer on 11:24 this morning. I haven't received any MR and I did not do upfront. Is this an error (disappointed ) or CIC just realized the importance of our old CEC applicants? should I pay it now? finger crossed for everyone!! The wait is almost over!!!
BTW, i requested a GCMs notes last Friday and i don't know if its related.

Can someone who got RPRF request in the past not TODAY please check your RPRF email, and see what is in their signature ? GCMS Code?

GCMS Codes.. Its weird.
After thinking for a while, I think I rather pay for RPRF after seeing if there is MR coming too.. .

I am not sure why there is so much confusion about this RPRF notification. We had to pay this landing fees no matter what so why not now after this email. Take it as a good sign.

yeah i agree with you any how they have to collect this fees in future so they made a mass update for all the old CEC applicants and trying to collect the fees and complete the application on time.

I just got off the phone with CiC, they confirmed this email was sent due to an erroron their side. Application is following its due course, no updates!

I got the email too and I have never requested GCMS notes before.

Hi, I am the one who posted this question.

I've just spoken with the CIC agent by phone and she verified that the Ottawa office made a mistake to send the email (request for payment of RPRF) to almost everyone, including the ones already closed. So, yes, the email was legitimate CIC email but it was a mistake.
