Hi guys,

when work permit expires we will be on implied status rite. During that period our SIN number would have been already expired. So how do we get paid ? Is there anything that I should do ? Please advice. Thanks

There isn't anything u can/should do. Since our current employer have already verified our SIN when we are employed, we will continue to get paid during implied status. Only thing is that we cannot start working for a new employer, since they cannot verify our SIN as it got expired.

we will continue to get paid during implied status
- This is not correct. You will not get paid during Implied status because you cannot work in that period.

Yes. We can work under Implied status until decision is made. You may verify in below CIC link

International Mobility Program: Authorization to work without a work permit – Implied status
This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by CIC staff. It is posted on the CIC website as a courtesy to stakeholders.
R186(u) allows for persons to continue working under the conditions of an expired work permit, as long as they applied for a new work permit before the original work permit expired and have remained in Canada. Once the decision has been made, the client will either have to leave Canada or will continue as a worker who holds a valid work permit.

I have got MR today i.e 03/04. Please update the sheet :D ;D

When your application received?

Some one please tell me how much time is currently being taken between receiving AOR and receiving MR request .

Does it speed the process for someone who has already submitted all police verification documents along with the application ? Is this even a factor to drive quicker processing time ? Do we have any observation around this ?

Your info is totally incorrect and misleading kiranmayi. It clearly states on the cic website about implied status and continuing to work until they make a decision on your work permit etc.

1. If you gone on Implied status during your new Work Permit application is in progress - Yes, you are eligible to work.
2. If you applied Work Permit renewal after the current WP expired - Implied status but you are not eligible to work

I remember Mississauga86 was asking this question before so I thought he applied renewal after first one got expired.
