Separate Civil Union, separation agreement needed?

Hi all,

I was sponsored by my ex-partner under civil union partnership to BC last year in June, we separated a few months after that. She has two children before our union, who were also sponsored to Canada around the same time. Do we need to sign a separation agreement? I do not reside in Canada now and no longer wish to go there. However, I do wish to study and perhaps seek residence status in another country with my current partner. If I am to apply for PR for this other country, do I need a separation agreement to acknowledge that my ex and I are separated? If I do, do I need to hire a lawyer to do this?

This tricky little question has puzzled me for a while, I wish someone here can help me. Many thanks.

The best place to ask is probably a forum for this other country. You might also want to check their required documents. It may tell you. :)

Please help me, I just want to know how much do we need to prepare for the processing fees, I'm quite confused, are we going to pay for my husband, me, my youngest son who is accompanying me to Canada and my eldest son who isn'taccompanying due to he will continue his college here? I'm confused with this:

Family member 22 years or older, or who is married, engaged or in a common-law relationship, regardless of age $550

Correct me if I am wrong with this:

Sponsor 1 $75
Principal applicant 1 $475
Family member who is under 22 years and who is not married, engaged or in a common-law relationship 1 $150

Right of Permanent Residence Fee Number of persons Amount per person
Principal applicant (Spouse/common-law partner) 1 $ 490

What about my eldest son who isn't accompanying, should we pay for him? What is that $550 for?

Would it be $1190 all in all except the $550?

Thank you so much and God bless...
