Sent copy of Passport to wrong visa office please advise?

Whilst I was visiting in Canada I sent a copy of my passport to the Ottawa office but I have only just read that they don't send passport documents overseas (should have read the email before more carefully). I reside in England and have put my return address as in England. I'm guessing I needed to send it to London instead which I have done yesterday. Will this delay the process? Do I need to inform CIC to process my documents at the London office instead of Ottawa?

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

They got it on the 14th Feb. I didn't include an express envelope, just a standard. They wouldn't send to my address anyway because it's not in Canada. I was in such a rush to get this sent off that I didn't read properly.

Hmm, this is a good question. I assume they will just mail the COPR from London if that is an issue. I'd just say you should send an enquiry explaining the issue. You don't want to resend it just yet as it's been too long and that could cause even more confusion.

You can also try phoning and see what the status is of the document. There's a number out there that allows you to phone the helpline from overseas.

I sent an email to CIC, no reply so I phoned them a few hours ago. Spoke to one of their call centre agents who was very rude. But she did say that my documents from Ottawa office would have been sent to the London office for processing.

She asked if I linked up MyCIC account, which I have done but it only comes up with this, and does not show that the final decision has been made, even though it shows up on ECAS as decision made.

The woman had said CIC do multiple checks at once and that the checks could take 4-5 months and that's why they requested my documents? ??? I phoned CIC last Friday and spoke to someone else, and he said I had been approved already. I am so confused and have no idea what is going on.

Don't know what she was talking about either, didn't you get the "PPR" request? That's not the same as a general document request. They only recently seemed to start requesting passport copies from all visa-exempt people. Maybe I misunderstood what you sent, I assume you were talking about the final request for passport copies and photos, right?

I think she is right about them sending it to London, though. Worst-case scenario, they will email you another request.

Also, I think ECAS updates sooner than MyCIC, from what I understand.

Yes it was the PPR request letter that CIC sent me, since I'm visa-exempt they only want copies. I really hope I don't have to re-send them again. I'll just wait to see what they come back with now.
