Hi everyone, I need some advice urgently. I am a student in US on F1 visa and I had applied for a visitor visa in June, 2015 and was asked to send over the passport. I didn't send over my passport as my trip was cancelled but I am planning to visit Canada in March. My question is the original email said

"Your passport must be received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada within 30 days from the date of this letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application."

The application status portal says "Final decision : Not started". Does it mean I can send my passport over to the embassy in LA and it will be approved/stamped or do I have to apply again for Visa??

Thanks a ton!

1. If you received the request for the passport sometime in July you can probably figure that your application has been refused, so you probably will need to apply again.

Probably but in my status it doesn't show that application status is "refused". It says Not started?

Here's the description of the status -

"Not started" means that we have not yet made a final decision.

"Refused" means that CIC has refused your work permit application. There will be a message in MyCIC indicating the reason(s) for refusal.

Also, the customer care e-mails are useless. If I email them asking, they send me an email saying they can't discuss my application with me! And give me a stupid form to fill about some representative.

"Your passport MUST be received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada WITHIN 30 days from the date of this letter.FAILURE TO DO SO could result in the REFUSAL of your application."

The reason i asked is it says failure to do so "COULD result in a refusal". It doesn't say that it WILL be refused. Hence, I want to know if anyone had a similar experience.

Hello, I would like to know what happened next with your application? I have recived my Original passport request, but I need to travel for work next week and can't send my passport, what should I do? Should I contact the visa office? They would understand my situation? o_O:confused:
