Hi all,

A couple of months ago I posted a question about whether it's ok to send additional documents (police checks) to Mississauga prior to AOR. I understand that it is not recommended as they can easily misplace the documents. This is an outland application and as many of you know, the stage 1 processing times have gone up to 81 days today. That means that by the time they process the sponsor part of the application, the police check will be expired, and we just can't get another one so easily.

We do have a temporary file number (beginning with XS) as well as both the applicant's and the sponsor's UCI numbers. Would this information be enough to make sure that they file the police check with the right file?

Cheers.

Yes it would be....just make sure that you add the UCI number on for the applicant.

Thanks for replying. Just to make sure, this is an outland application and we haven't received formal AOR. No SA either. We only have a temp number because of a complaint we filed with them. My main worry is that since we don't have AOR they won't know what to do with the police check.

do you actually have the police record ready to submit, or are you still waiting for that?

End of January.

esh! ok, here's what I think I would do. wait 1-2 weeks before sending the record you have now. since they are now processing october applications, it is quite possible you will receive SOMETHING before then. If you haven't received anything 1 week before it expires, then I would mail it off to Mississauga with the information you do have ( In my experience, our "temp" # became our file number, just without an X.) I would ALSO apply for another FBI check JUST IN CASE the one sent doesn't get attached properly. That way, you at least will be on top of the ball if it comes to a point they don't have it and request a new one.

Thanks. My idea was to wait one more week and then send it no matter what, but then I feel it's risking it because there's no way you can guarantee that they'll attach it to the right file...very unnerving!

It's not an FBI check by the way. It's a police check from a country that makes it nearly impossible to get this document if you don't live there any longer. That's why this is urgent, because right now I can't really go back there if it expires.

oops! my bad. good luck!

The UCI number is enough for them to match it to your file.

Hi! I know this post is so long ago. But i am just curious regarding my temporary file number which is similar with yours. It also starts with XS. Does it matter? Because I have been seeing other people having temporary file numbers starting with XF.
