Send passports from US to Canada

Hi all,
We have received PPR mail recently. So we would like to know which courier service is safe and better to send and receive our passports without any hassles.
Read somewhere that we are not supposed to send Indian passports internationally. Is it true? But I am sure many Indians have sent their passports and got their PR. So it is confusing.
Also, I want to know steps for return shipping label and invoice to be sent along with passports.
So can someone please explain the steps in detail.

Many of us sent it from US to Canada. Just send it as you are not the first one to do it.
Keep the return prepaid envelope(from the companies like ups fedex that are acceptable by them) that has postage paid and addresses filled so that you can track it. if not they will still send but by ordinary post.
Follow the steps given in the email rather than asking here as instructions change.
