Hi everyone,

I filed my completed application in June 2013. Now I realized that working as a Research Assistant my NOC is type A job, not B job which I originally thought it would be..... according to CIC Type A job it must meet the minimum level of CLB 7.... and I have CLB 6 in my application now. My question is are they going to reject my application for this reason??

What should I do now? should I do another language test and mail to them now? Am I allow to do this??

THANKS SO MUCH!

Hi,

Did you receive AOR number? If your IELTS score is lower than the requirements then it should get rejected before you get AOR during the document completion check at Sydney. If you have received AOR for some reason then it's best to withdraw your application and apply again with a new IELTS score. Your application will be rejected for sure in Ottawa after a long wait of more than 10 months. And they won't entertain a new IELTS score for the same package. Sorry to give you this news.

thanks for reply.

I dont receive a mail for my AOR number but I do receive an email Acknowledgement of Receipt. It gives me UCI, application code etc...it states below:

Upon review of the information you have provided, your application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulatio 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
Your application will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing.

In my application---> Occupation: Research Assistant (NOC 2211).

The problem is my job can go around either Research assistant (NOC 4012. type A)or Chemical lab Technician (NOC 2211;type B job I have CLB 6). So I put Research Assistant as occupation title (stupidly) and another NOC code beside it. (I did not know Research assistant has NOC code before!)

What do you think??

Hi,

Yes, that is the AOR email. It is good that you have received it. As I do not have experience about your NOC code, I am not the right person to give you advice on your situation. I have seen other applicants with the same NOC code as yours in this forum. Please do a search to find out and reach out to them. Best of luck on your PR journey.

to PandFeb2013,

I am very confused right now thanks so much for the support. But why did you say that CIC do not entertain a new language test? do you have similar experience? So if I send my new score to CIC, they are just going to trash it?!? Is that mean??

DO u have a new test score with you, if yes plz send it soon ? if not give a test and send it ..Now chances that they will accept it depends on VO. So you application has some chances. But better be ready for rejection, they dont consider updated scores but you never know.

You applied in june 2013 so you should hear from them by next year usually they reject after 8 month. But send your ielts score and order GCMS to check that they are added to your file.

You also have a option make a new file and withdraw the old one, by doing this you are only wasting 6 months of ur time..if you can afford 2 or 3 month more than give a shot...update them with new ielts score but i wouldnot bet on any thing

Thanks. what is VO and GCMS? and no i dont have a new test score yet....

VO = visa officer.

GCMS = global case management system (This is a record/note about your application, through this you get to understand, the status of your application).
Apply here: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do

ECAS = You can login to ECAS (Electronic Client application system) with your AOR number from email, here you can see some updates. Mostly if you login there, it should show "Application Received".
Login here: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=

These things are not mandatory. But people get them, just to have an idea about their application.

You should consider taking the IELTS exam.
Their seats are limited. And even if you wanted to take the exam, next chance may not come in another month or so.

Hi,

I am not saying that through personal experience, but through reading through the forum I have seen that most rejected applicants had submitted updated documents that were not considered in the end. As Gladaki said, I would encourage you to order for your GCMS notes which will provide you in detail the status of your application and all fields of the application entered by the VO in Sydney into their system. This will tell you the title and the NOC code that the VO has considered and entered in the system. If the title and NOC entered are right even though you entered wrong in your application then you should be fine. The GCMS notes is usually 32 pages long and the second to the last page contains the notes of the VO that he entered regarding your application before passing it on to Ottawa. If the VO's notes on that page do not suggest any issues then again you should be fine. Hence please order GCMS ASAP. Also register for IELTS in the meantime to be safe.

Based on this (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language.asp) I'd say that they most likely will ignore updated test results and reject an application

As a general rule you can't "improve" an application after you've sent it - by adding more work experience, better language results, and so on.
