Hello,

I'm a UK citizen who will be heading out to Canada shortly to work part-time as a Snowboard Instructor. I'll be on a 2-year working holiday (IEC) visa.

I've also had a couple of offers of freelance work from both my old company (based in the US) and from a company based in Canada.

However, I can't seem to find any clear information on the CIC website regarding how to go about doing this (and whether it's even allowed in the first place).

Can I just register as freelance and then add my earnings into my yearly Canadian tax return? Or is it more complex than this?

I'm in a similar situation:

I'm an Australian Citizen and will be in Vancouver in January in a 2 year IEC Working Holiday Visa.
I'm a graphic designer and freelancing is fairly commonplace, however I can't find any clear information on the process needed to register as a contractor or sole trader.

I have read that I may need to use an Umbrella Pay-Roll company to collect my earnings on my behalf?

Any clarification on this would be awesome!
