Hi everyone, I have simple question and hope some of you guys can suggest what to do. I'm applying under Canadian Experience and I have one year full time experience, all is left is to fill out those forms. Here is where I'm sort of stuck.

Before starting my proper job, while I was still in school, I was also working as a sub-contractor which is pretty much self-employed, for about 5 months doing a software project part-time.

Schedule 8 form asks to list experience for last 3 years, but only those which is under NOC list 0, A, B. Should I put that period of self-employment on this form or not?

Also, document check list asks for letter of references from your previous employers, since I was self-employed do I need to get a letter for that experience or I can just skip that.

YES, include it if it was in the past 3 years. It won't "count," but the form also asks,

"Were you self-employed during any of the above listed periods..." so do identify it there.

You can skip the letter for the period of self-employment / pre-graduation work experience.

Hi,

Self-employment can be considered as a work experience to be qualified for Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?

No, you can't use self-employment for CEC as far as I know. I was just trying to figure out the proper way to present it on my application.
