Self assessment points?

Although there is a self assessment test on cic.gc.ca, are we expected to provide any self assessment of the points claimed with the application form? I do not see any such form where we claim points nor any mention of this in the checklist for CIO as well as Visa Offices. So is this left to the discretion of the Visa officer based on the documents and forms submitted?

No. It is the IO who determines your points.
