Seeking asylum at the Toronto airport

Do you already have a TRV approved that will allow you to transit through Canada?
TRV = Temporary Resident Visa. Must be applied for and approved in advance from CIC application, in order to be allowed to transit through Canada.
If this is already approved, then yes you can claim asylum in the airport upon arriving. Through I'm not sure where exactly you would do this as often there is no immigration to pass through when transiting.
