i am planning to launch my application.
but i am not sure how my current boss will respond to check by cic.
is the check by cic by phone or they visit the office(may be hire external agency)

They may or may not phone*. CIC has varied means to check our b/grounds & security clearances; and they may take any & many measures to perform the same.

*Not in every case a call goes to our employer/s.

All depends upon case to case and also on the Visa officer who has your case. They may or may not call. Very Very rarely might make a visit but has not happend in India so far as per this forum and information shared by its members on this forum. If the case is simple and plain vanilla, then usually the case goes through.
