Hi,

I was originally enrolled in a 2 year diploma program. However, due to personal reasons, I finished two semester and graduated a diploma instead of completing the 4 semester course. I applied for PGWP and was granted a one year work permit. However, I have not been able to secure a proper job. I am wondering if I complete the rest of the two semesters (after applying for a study permit), can i apply for the work permit again. I am aware the PGWP is only granted once, but since in my case, I will only be completing the originally planned program can apply for 1 (or 2 year) work permit.

Basically, can I reclaim the part of the original work permit which I would have been granted had I continued with the studies?

Thanks

If I am not able to secure a ITA before the end of my PGWP, what are my options in such a case?

You would need to stop working. Alternatively, your employer would need to get an approved LMIA so that you can apply for a closed work permit.

I already have an active Express entry profile wherein I have provided the NOC category for software testing (foreign experience). Does the LMIA have to be related into the same field or can it be in any other occupation like restaurant or retail store manager? One of the consultant told me that even if the LMIA application for the employer is approved, I wont get the closed work-pemit from the border agent, if I am not working in the same occupation as my primary NOC.
