Hello, I was previously married and sponsored my first wife in 2011. we were together until 2016, then separated due to differences in our personality. we recieved our divorce certificate in Nov 2017. I met my second and current wife in 2018 Dec via a newpapaer ad given by family in india. we started chatting, we got along great and had similar interests. she then met with my family in india along with her family. She also met my sister and her husband who were in india in Jan 2019. We then decided to get married while i was visiting my family from Jan 23 to Feb 5th. we officially got married in front of family and friends on Jan 28. we lived together and went for a honeymoon and went on family picnics during my stay in india. the reason for my short stay was lack of vacation time at my newly started workplace. I will now be starting a sponsorhip application for my current wife, and wanted know what obsetical and scrutiny i will face from the immigration officer based on my situation.

If anyone is in the boat--fear not.

Inland sponsorship with my second husband-
a copy of your divorce documents. Provide a copy of your new marriage certificate, and supporting documents that demonstrate a strong degree of connection. Photos, proof of joint bank accounts/financial support. Commissioned letters from family and close friends.
We were not required to do a relationship interview. Many people require this however, and its not something to stress about if your relationship is legit.
If they need additional documents, they will ask. Read the application package carefully and explain the situation clearly.
Canada does not punish the divorced. Its not something that is frowned upon here, its a common occurrence. They just want to ensure that your new marriage is not one of convenience.

Should be prepare for the interview. You both should know everything about your daily life routine. They ask very simple questions related to your routine and the reason for previos divorce.

My file was transferred on October 25th to New Delhi. on Nov 14th, They requested Gujarati version of my wife's divorce papers (not sure why) but we had submitted English translated and notarized copy as well. Anyways we emailed a copy of the divorce papers this on Monday Nov 18. No update since then.


Anyone know how long it will take them for to acknowledge they have received the documents? and what's next for us? thanks!
