Hello Everyone! I am writing to ask a simple question but can't seem to find specific answers.

I am a US citizen that is currently living in Argentina while I apply as a Family Class Sponsorship with my Common Law girlfriend.

Do I need to ask for a background check in the US and Argentina? Is this something I need to do or Canada is the one who looks into it? Not sure if besides the "Schedule A" I need to ask for a background check in all the countries I previously resided.

Please help! Thank you so much and sorry for my english :)

PS: Since I was 18 I only spent more than 6 months living in Argentina and Canada, do I still need a police check from the US?

Hi,

You'll need a police record from the US since you are an american citizen, also you'll need one from Argentina and Canada because you've spent 6 months or more in those countries.

The schedule A background check is the form IMM5669. You'll have to fill that out, validate it and upload it alongside the police records.

Thank you! I am unsure about the US FBI background check because I've never spent more than a few days there in my entire life...
