Hi all,
I am about to applied for PR via FSW programme for which I will easily qualify. As my partner dropped out of university she will not (she want's to finish studying if Canada if we go). Consequently, I would like to have her included on my application. We've been dating for 2 years, living together for 10 months (still waiting on a few documents so will have been 12 months by the time I apply), problem is we have little if any hard evidence of cohabitation. I suppose being younger we try to do everything electronically (living in a country with a notoriously unrealiable postage system means that I have bills banks, statements, etc emailed). I recently added her onto my lease by this won't show 12 months cohabitation and I really don't want a 10 month application delay if possible. We have huge amounts of softer evidence of our relationship. Litterally about 1000 photos on Facebook and numerous friends and relatives who can second cohabitaion. Unfortunately I am afraid that this will not cut it and I don't want to jepordise our applications with inadequate proof of a common law relationship.
Any advice from anyone? I know lots of couples my age in serious relationships (as much a common law marriage as anyone elses) who find themsleves in a similar predicament. I understand that a marriage certificate negates the need to prove cohabitation althouugh some supporting edivence may still be required.
Is a rushed marriage before the application an option? Will the authorities view a marrige JUST before an application with suspicion? There is no nefarious intent here, I just don't want to have to postpone my application for such a long time.
Do I have options to sponsor her once I recive PR? If so how difficult would this be to do and how long would it take?
Many thanks in advance,
Worried
