I've been reading some rumours online (yes I know, dont believe everything on the Internet) regarding time spent working during the IEC (or USIT if you're from Ireland) Work and Travel program and that the time spent working during this period does not count towards 2 years work experience.

Speaking for myself, I worked fulltime during the first year of my USIT work and travel programme and then received a positive LMO and continued to work in Canada.

Can anyone confirm of deny such rumour?

I would say that the rumours are rubbish to be honest.

How else are you to work here legally for 2 years? As long as you worked for 2 years with the correct documents and paid your tax - it should be all good.

This is what I thought as well, I was fortunate enough to get a full time IT job during my work and travel visa and then get the same employer to get 2 positive LMO's. I may have to call the CIC just to verify, either way, the paperwork has already been submitted.
