we leave on 24 july. deedee can you cancel the plane tickets? are they refundable? if yes, search again from cheapoair.com - i actually looked now and you got such a big fat price 'cause you leave from TM. i have an idea for you, if you search (i put 22 july) from bucharest to montreal, i got the price of 650 euro. you paid double even if you need to go to Bucharest, you'd have to pay a looot less!! please feedback! btw do you have facebook? let's talk there - PM me!

and no i don't ship anything by cargo, i'll just have 2 or 3 trollers (have no idea)..

On 11 July I go. Yes, I know it is cheaper from Buc, the thing is I want to fly with the same airplanes my husband does, because I will have the cat too. So for me it's impossible to travel 10 hours on train, then go to the airport etc.. next time :-D I will leave the cat in Canada. Yes I know it sounds crazy, but I won't emigrate without her :-D

For sure we can meet in Mtrl if you want to, I basically don't know anyone there :-D but you should bring a (cute) pie so I can recognize you haha

I am VERY curious when me and teodorix will get the permanent visa!

deedee, since they approved your TRV (same as my husband's temporary romanian residency), it will count as a "bila alba" how we say in romanian, since they see that you want to spend time with your husband.. i'd say this december you'll get something, same as me, after 9 months

How much did you say in your TRV application that you want to stay in Canada?
Did you ask them to stay 6 months or did they just give you multiple 6 month entries for one year?
I think I would like to try and apply for a TRV for my husband as well.

Hi d_b!

I applied for TRV through VFS Global because it was the only way to do it. I didn't have any other option.
For TRV you need to send your file at this address: No 17 Thomas Masaryk St, Bucharest. They will collect your app (verify signatures and to have all the documents requested by CIC), fees and after CIC will make a decision they'll return your passport.

To understand better about VFS Global, here are some info I found on their website (vfsglobal.ca - romania): "VFS Global is pleased to announce the opening of the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) operated by International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Romania on 1 August 2013. CVAC is the exclusive service provider for the Government of Canada, authorised to accept applications in all temporary resident categories (visitor visas, study and work permits) and travel document applications from Canada’s permanent residents in Romania."

this whole visa thing is tiring.. they reached a decision on 10 April, i did the medical 2 weeks later, then waited for about 1 month without them saying anything.. i sent a case specific enquiry and they resent me the PPR e-mail.. passport arrived on 4 June at the embassy (without a prepaid return envelope like they requested, DHL courier didn't let me do it, i have to wait for CIC to confirm the pick up of the passport)..

since then, NOTHING! my e-cas changed to DECISION MADE also. seriously? my plane tickets are already bought (24 july) so i started to get worried. sent them another case specific enquiry..

i find it extremely annoying that they do not let you contact them via phone. or that you can't deliver & pick up the passport yourself (other VO's like Vienna allow it). if you send them e-mails i guess you have a 30% chance of a reply from them. i bet it's easier to contact the president :

Hello db, sorry for my late reply, I am in vacation. I applied through VFS because I did not find a way to directly send my application. So I had to pay VFS.. you can call them and they give you infos.

In my application I said I need to go three months this summer and if my PR doesn't come meanwhile I need to go in Canada again next spring, so I want multiple entries visa.

CutiePie, I start to feel sorry that you did not accept their first offer, to leave Romania very fast.. you will eventually get it, not later than your airplane tickets for sure, but I feel sorry for you to stress again about this visa thing after so much waiting. I hope all goes OK for you very soon!

well i made a big fuss without nothing ;D they CALLED me (such an honour) the next day and i was able to pay the courier, got the visa! it's finally over! now i can look forward to leaving 8)
