Romanian Timeline - In Process

Hi everyone,

I'm sponsoring my Romanian husband to Canada, and it's getting pretty depressing waiting alone, so I'm joining the forum.

Reading about the good news people get is helping me cope.

I sent my application in Nov. 27, 2014 and I got my AOR Feb. 20 2015, and SA Feb 24. Our VO is Bucharest, so looks like the wait will be 16 months starting from now.. or hopefully soon when our application gets to Bucharest.

It is indeed very depressing, I know, but seems we must wait and that's it. Hopefully it won't take 16 months, let's hope for a much better time. I searched the forum and some google spreadsheets people completed, and lots of them took the visa sooner than the official time. We must all imagine we will obtain it this year!

Good you got the SA already, you're one step closer, I'm still waiting mine.

Hi everyone, looking for some advice regarding the spousal sponsorship.
I've been working in Canada for more than 1 year, my permit expires in November. With the new Express Entry rules it's 50/50 chance I'll get my permit renewed (my company has to apply for LMIA and we may run out of time).
Me and my boyfriend are planning to get married this year. My question is, if we get married in Canada before my permit expires, can I extend my stay here in any way during the processing of the spousal sponsorship application?
I'm a dual (Romanian/Hungarian) citizen that's why I thought I'd join the Bucharest thread.

Hi Everyone.
Did anyone get any news from Romanian office recently?
It looks like they did slow down in processing the applications. I filed our application at June 2014 and it was forwarded to Romania in August.
Since then no news. How long is it usually till we receive anything from them?

yeah, anyone have any news or movement from them? I don't even know how long it takes for them to receive our application once the SA is done.. Do they even give you an AOR2?

I think some people got AOR, but last year.. Alex you didn't get any AOR2 since August 2014? Anyway, some people simply don't get AOR2 at all, from what I read.

I have no news from Bucharest, after the SA, totally silence. We really got a horrible VO, I hope they start working soon!

Thanx guys for your replies. Now I know I'm not the only one with this kind of issues.

Since I received the sponsorship approval in August 2014, I did not get any other messages from the Government or Embassy.
Neither did my status change when I check the application status online.

Hope it won't get too long!

Yeah and meanwhile the timeline is 16 months... I really hope they won't make us wait so long, it would be insane. Please post here after you hear any news, ok? Not a lot of people with VO at Bucharest on this forum.

I'm quite new on this thread
I sent my application on January 23, 2015, I got my AOR on March 25, 2015, and SA on March 26, 2015.
Yes, the whole process it is frustrating but we can't do anything about it, just to wait and hope that it will last less than 16 months...

@Alex, you're kinda in the same boat with me. we applied in may 2014. i got AOR2 from Bucharest only because we needed to send them an additional document (the Quebec certificate).. we're still waiting. Bucharest has our app since late july. it's very frustrating how slowly they move
Alex did you order GCMS notes? they can show you valuable info we ordered our second set in march. we should receive them shortly.

Yeah, it looks like we are almost in the same time line.

I did not order any notes yet, but I am looking forward to sending the request to the embassy, just because it is little frustrating being without any news.

I waited long enough to come in that brutal winter
I hope now would be wave of visas in the spring.

HEy everyone! I have fantastic news ;D we got A phone call from the embassy!!! 8) the lady on the phone said we're approved!! However since my medical is expiring on 12 May, she said I have 2 options: I either enter Canada by 12 may or I do a remedical! In any case, she sent me the official PP email and asked me via phone to reply to the email, i either send the passport or i do remedical and leave later on. Now, i have a question though, will they request me to do the medical AFTER 12 may(current med expiration date) or they'll let me to it asap? Does anyone have an idea?

I would enter May 12 or ASAP instead of redoing medical. But then if u can't, then redo the medical I guess. U don't have to wait til it expires to redo it if that's what you're asking.

CutiePie92 Congratulations!!!! I would enter by 12 of may because after that u would have to redo your medicals and it costs good money. As Vania said we had a terrible winter. Greetings from Canada!!!!! I wish everybody a Happy Easter and a lot of upcoming visas. Paste Fericit!!!
