Hi,

I have been trying to get to a solution but seems I don't have too many choices. Nonetheless I would like to listen to your advice if you can think of anything I can work with;

- I need to pass the road test.
- I don't own a car.
- I don't drive automatic transmission.
- Car rental and car rental companies only rent automatic transmission.
- None of my friends have standard transmission.

How can I show myself to the road test with a car of my own (lent, rented, bough) that has standard transmission?

(I don't have time to learn to drive automatic).

Really?

It might be a minute for you, but for me it is not.

Automatic is really just press and go. There isn't anything to learn. The only thing you could do is maybe post an add on Kijiji or something offering some money for someone to accompany you on the road test with their car.

its not that easy. i used to drive Manual in my country and when i start learning automatic is was hard for me to drive coz im use to if changing gears, pressing clutch.

think before act/comment. take a couple minutes.

As Emily said try to post on kijiji and mention you will pay and i'm pretty sure you gonna find someone or try with AMA/CAA or Major driving schools they can help you, you can get manual car from them approx $50 for few hours something like that, but also try to learn Automatic.

Good luck.

There is no clutch in an automatic car..only a gas and brake pedal. Your left leg will not be used at all, everything is done with your right leg.
Don't create a problem where is none..

AMA/CAA that's a great advice... thanks a lot.

Learning automatic? I don't see a use on that besides passing the driving exam.... I would prefer not to but if I have to do it then I will.

if it will make you feel better, its much easier for those driving manual to learn automatic - than for those driving automatic to learn manual.
Forget the exam..its just a 30 minutes thing - you can get by either way, but once you get used to automatic driving you'll appreciate it much more especially in heavy traffic
