Hello, I have gone through loads of posts and do have alot of data which explains that NO ONE can predict what will actually happen in any case to anyone. I became a PR on 7 Oct 2022 and my PR Card Expiry is in November 2027.
I came back because my father had an amputation, I am the only child. My mother had long history of arthritis and her osteoporosis got severe 2 years back. Had a surgery last year and she was unable to walk after that. In short, I lost all my savings and never returned to Canada. I applied for several jobs, had interviews, nothing materialized. I maintained a Canadian Bank for all this time and a credit card too. I started working two jobs in January 2024, one with a Canadian Employer as a Contractor (not the kind of job that gives me the edge to get my RO Counted atleast from my knowledge), and another one. I saved for the next two years and was planning to fly on 28th September but it got delayed because my team wanted to move me to Canada. The process started late because of some internal issues, the discussion was on going for the past 1 year and also one of the reasons for my delay in moving. Eventually, everything materialized, I have an offer letter to start on 11th November and I am flying on 24th October. I stayed in Canada until 16th October 2022 so now when I return, I will be short of 9-10 days for the next two years if I remain as is.
My question is, what evidence do I need to keep in addition to the medical of my parents, my own surgery in August, my financial hardships, the offer letter (emails with my HR for delay in my flight and losing the buffer days for RO)?
I am a very skeptical and negative person so I am thinking of the worst possible outcome which is the process to revoke my PR. What should be my next steps because I have so many reasons and if an Officer doesn't consider them valid, how will I be sure that IAD will? I am extremely worried right now about flying and paranoid so I will appreciate if I can get any help or advice.
Also, I can't seem to know what triggers inspection at the Border? I am landing at YYZ.

While no-one can predict with certainty, there is enough experience seen on these boards that your chances of having your PR status revoked with only being 9-10 days short are quite low. It's quite possible you'll just be waved through with no further questions. (That doesn't mean future entries/exits will be risk free but should remain low esp if you continue residing in Canada going forward). They do not typically go further than some questions, esp if there are mitigating factors.

As stated, I personally guess that examination at the border will be short with possibly some questions and (at most) a warning to be careful about the RO and a note to file. If asked why, give a short reference to the best reasons and mention there were other complications. It won't hurt to have eg one or two pieces of paper (or scanned on phone) that somehow evidence this; it's unlikely they will even look at them but if it makes you feel better... . If they ask for more detail, give it verbally, briefly. Mentioning you are returning for a job that you begin ASAP won't hurt either.

As for what further evidence would be needed if it went further than this - worry about that later. Overall you are over-worrying; get your move done.

Note/warning to others: comments like mine apply to these specific circumstances, only a couple weeks out of RO. If much more or different circumstances - well, then, that's different. Lots of threads here with guidance.

Thank you so much, it makes me feel better and confident. I will keep whatever I can on my phone and present it if required. I do not plan to travel anywhere unless ofcourse required by my job which will be to the US which is too early to predict anyways. I forgot to mention that I already have a lease that began on 1st October in my name and a mobile phone plan that began on 13th Oct too.
Again, thanks a lot - I atleast feel confident that I may be able to get away with a few questions. It's just that coming from a country like mine and losing this will mean the end of road for me as I have already given up my current job for the transfer to Toronto.

Your PR will not be revoked but don't apply to renew PR until you meet RO. Nothing will trigger because your card doesn't expire for another 2 years.
Thanks to you as well!
