thanks Honolulu, as suggested I called CIC this morning to ask for an update. It took 15 minutes before I was able to talk to an agent (no surprise there ;) ), they said our PR cards were sent today and I should receive it next week.

Best of luck to you! :)

You may get it very soon!!
But no harm calling to check status.
Best!

Who knows why they request 3? Well we did the photos to the specs that were requestwed in your red letter so I'm hoping they work out.

Hope your new pics are good and you get your card quickly!

The new spec for PR card according to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445EB.asp is measure between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown (top of hair).

The above is the requirement since "Date Modified: 2011-02-23"

If that's the new specs for the PR card then why did Honolulu get the old specs of between 31 & 36mm in his red letter that he just received? Why did the link connected to my passport request give me those dimensions as well...soooo confusing ::) Have they just not updated the link...lol how're we supposed to know?

Hi all,
I received passport request from Buffalo. The photo requirements in the passport request mail was (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/photospecs.asp) the size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 1/4″) and 36 mm (1 7/16″).

The new spec for PR card according to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445EB.asp is measure between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown (top of hair).

I am in US. I plan to land ASAP I get the visa.

Does CIC, Buffalo use the photo we send with passport for PR cards or do we submit separate photographs while landing? If photo sent with passport for visa stamping is used for PR card, the photos are automatically rejected. If we have to submit separate photo while landing , then its ok.

Senior members please advise.
I had the same question as kelKel, when I posted the above query last time.

I guess only time will tell. If my bf gets his card with no problems I'll let you know! It's strange because some people that have landed have you used the old specs some have used the new. It's a little cryptic.

Another guy has just told me his red letter stated the new specs. I wish someone could clarify this.

Hello there Honolulu,

I guess you must have submitted your photos by now. I thionk you mentioned that you were going to the St. Clair Avenue Office, right? I will have to go there too, as its been mentioned in the red letter sent out to me.
DID YOU HAVE TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TO VISIT THE OFFICE AND HAND IN YOUR PHOTOS? Please let me know as soon as you can.

Thanks

Hi,

Just want to make sure I understand what's going on. So, when we apply initially, we are sending pics to Buffalo:
4 photos per applicant with the following measures
-between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown;
-have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8” x 1 3/4”) finished size.

Then we also need to submit 3 photos when we are required passport to Buffalo. With those latest, they will attach one pic to CO-PR and return the remaining.
-The frame size must be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/4″);
-The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 1/4″) and 36 mm (1 7/16″).

And as final step we ought to supply 2 more pics:
-measuring between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown (top of hair);
-have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/4″) finished size;
-be on photographic paper that bears a date when landed. Is that right?

Now, is it the same if we do landing inland at CIC Local services?

HI all,

I shall be landing in Canada for a couple of days from US...As seen in this forum much trouble comes for the photos.
Here in the US whichever photo studio I am going to they are not able to give me the required specification photos...So what I was wondering after landing in Canda to shoot the photos for the PR card there itself..

Can anyone tell me is it ok to give the photos later after completing the landing formalities..??

Thank you
